Common questions

Where is my data stored?

On your device, in the app's local storage. Nothing you log is uploaded. That is a deliberate design decision โ€” see the privacy policy.

How do I back up or move my data?

Because your log lives only on your device, deleting the app deletes it, and we cannot restore it for you. Before switching phones, open My Profile → Export my data. It saves a single file named fitness-moonshot-YYYY-MM-DD.json with every entry: workouts, lifts, food, water, supplements, medications, weigh-ins, journal and notes. Keep that file somewhere safe. There is no import yet, so the file is your backup, not a restore button; that is next on the roadmap.

Food search says "Nothing matched"

The search covers the public USDA food tables (Foundation, SR Legacy and FNDDS). Brand-name products may not appear โ€” log those by hand with the manual entry fields below the search box.

Does the app work offline?

Yes. Everything except the food database search works with no connection at all. Food search needs a connection because the USDA tables live on our server rather than inside the app.

Medical disclaimer

Fitness Moonshot is a logging tool, not a medical device, and nothing in it is medical advice. Consult a qualified professional before changing training, diet, supplements or medication.

Delete your account and your data

Your logs live only on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes them; there is no copy on our servers to delete.

If you created an optional account, delete it inside the app: My Profile → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and removes your email address, password hash and sessions from our server. If you can no longer sign in, email support@moneymoonshot.com from the address on the account and we will delete it within 7 days.

Report a problem

Email support@moneymoonshot.com with the app version (Settings page), your phone's OS version, and what you expected vs what happened. Screenshots help.
