Fitness Moonshot Terms of Use

Last updated 3 September 2026 · Fitness Moonshot is published by Money Moonshot LLC.

Fitness Moonshot is a logging tool, not medical advice.

It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, it is not a medical device, and nothing in it has been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. Talk to a doctor or a registered dietitian before changing how you eat, how you train, or what you take.

Accepting these terms

By installing or using Fitness Moonshot you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. You must be at least 13 years old to use it. If you are under 18, use it with a parent, guardian or clinician involved — the estimates and targets in this app are built on adult population formulas and are not designed for growing bodies.

What the app is

Fitness Moonshot records what you tell it: workouts, sets and weights, food and portions, water, supplements, medications, weight and journal entries. It adds up what you enter and draws it back to you. That is the whole product.

Every derived number it shows — resting burn, calories out, calories remaining, BMI — is an estimate produced by a general population formula, not a measurement of your body. The resting-burn figure uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation. Step-based burn uses a flat per-step factor scaled by a weight you type in. These can be wrong for you by a wide margin, and they are not a substitute for testing done by a professional.

Nutrition data

Food values come from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's FoodData Central. We pass that data through as published. We do not verify it against the food in front of you, and portion sizes are whatever you enter. Do not rely on it where accuracy matters medically — for example, carbohydrate counting for insulin dosing.

Medications and supplements

The cabinet is a checklist and nothing more. It does not check interactions, does not know your history, and must not be used to decide whether or how much to take. Your prescriber and your pharmacist are the source of truth.

Safe use, disordered eating, and the limits we build in

Tracking helps some people and harms others. We would rather say so plainly than pretend otherwise.

The app will not set a daily calorie target below 1,200 kcal, or below 1,500 kcal where the profile says male. It will not set a goal weight below the bottom of the healthy BMI range for the height you enter. If a target is above those floors but below your own estimated resting burn, the app will ask you to confirm it rather than accept it silently.

These floors are deliberate and are not configurable. They are a blunt safety rail, not a clinical assessment, and clearing them does not mean a goal is right for you. Anything below them is a decision to make with a doctor, not with an app.

If food, weight or exercise has started running the show, that is worth taking seriously — it is not a willpower problem. Talk to your doctor. In the United States you can text NEDA to 741741 at any time, or call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. In an emergency, call 911.

Your data

Your health logs are stored on your device, not on our servers. If you create an account we hold your email address and a salted password hash, and nothing else. The details are in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Because your logs live on your phone, they are yours to lose: if you delete the app, reset the device, or lose the phone, the data goes with it. Export anything you would be sorry to lose.

Accounts and acceptable use

You are responsible for your account credentials and for what is done with your account. Do not use the app to break the law, to interfere with the service or its other users, or to attempt to access systems or data that are not yours. We may suspend access that is doing any of those things.

Availability and changes

The app is provided as-is and we do not promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. Food search needs a network connection and depends on a third-party dataset. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and we may update these terms; material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above, and continuing to use the app means accepting the revised terms.

No warranty

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fitness Moonshot is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the estimates, nutrition figures or any other output are accurate, complete or suitable for your circumstances.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Money Moonshot LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

You remain responsible for your own health decisions. Choosing a calorie target, a training load or a goal weight is your decision and your doctor's, not the app's.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
